Behavioral Support

Some dogs need more than basic training and that’s okay. Behavioral modification is designed for dogs struggling with fear, anxiety, reactivity, aggression, and other challenges. Whether your dog is overwhelmed by city life, uncomfortable around new people, or reactive on leash, support is available to help you both feel more confident and safe.

What Behavioral Support Covers

Behavioral sessions address a range of concerns, including:

  • Leash reactivity: Barking, lunging, or pulling toward dogs, people, or bikes

  • Stranger danger: Nervousness or barking at visitors, new people, or unfamiliar environments

  • Fear and anxiety: Sensitivity to sounds, movement, or touch; hiding or freezing

  • Aggression: Growling, snapping, or biting

  • Resource guarding: Tension around food, toys, or space

  • Multi-dog household issues: Conflict between dogs in the same home

  • General stress behaviors: Pacing, whining, hypervigilance, and more

Why Choose Positive Reinforcement?

Behavior modification uses positive reinforcement and force-free methods to change how your dog feels, not just how they act. Training focuses on reducing stress, creating safe experiences, and helping your dog learn more comfortable responses to difficult situations. The goal is long-term behavior change that supports your dog’s emotional well-being.

Who Basic Training Is For & How It Works

Behavioral support is for dogs showing signs of fear, anxiety, aggression, or reactivity. It’s especially helpful for newly adopted dogs, under-socialized dogs, or those struggling to adjust to busy urban environments like Jersey City or Hoboken.

See Real Progress at Home

Behavior change takes time, but consistent, force-free training helps your dog feel safer and more in control. Small, manageable steps lead to lasting improvements in confidence and behavior. Training is designed to fit into your daily life and build a more comfortable, connected relationship between you and your dog.
